Nifty IT index ended up 2.45% at 28698.6 today. The index has slipped 5.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Mphasis Ltd rose 4.51%, Coforge Ltd jumped 4.20% and Infosys Ltd gained 3.21%. The Nifty IT index has fallen 21.00% over last one year compared to the 0.60% slide in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Energy index gained 1.97% and Nifty Private Bank index increased 1.92% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 1.63% to close at 17359.75 while the SENSEX increased 1.78% to close at 58991.52 today.
